Tribal Training is a temporary training assistance program provided to unemployed tribal citizens to help address immediate financial needs. The Tribal Training Program is designed to offer eligible applicants short-term, supervised work opportunities that build foundational job skills, establish positive work habits, and provide recent work experience in a structured environment. Participants are placed at Cherokee Nation worksites, where they receive hands-on training and support while developing essential skills such as punctuality, communication, and task completion. This program is intended as a training opportunity rather than permanent employment and serves as a pathway toward unsubsidized employment, education, or advanced work experience programs.
Eligibility
The program provides a wage of $50/day for up to 4 days a week (32-hour work week). Tribal Training clients must perform regular job searches in order to show they are actively seeking employment to attain self-sufficiency.
