Tribal Training Services

Tribal Training is a temporary training assistance program provided to unemployed tribal citizens to help address immediate financial needs. The Tribal Training Program is designed to offer eligible applicants short-term, supervised work opportunities that build foundational job skills, establish positive work habits, and provide recent work experience in a structured environment. Participants are placed at Cherokee Nation worksites, where they receive hands-on training and support while developing essential skills such as punctuality, communication, and task completion. This program is intended as a training opportunity rather than permanent employment and serves as a pathway toward unsubsidized employment, education, or advanced work experience programs.

Eligibility

  • Adults age 18 and up
  • Cherokee Nation Tribal Citizen
  • Resident of the Cherokee Nation 14-County Reservation.
  • Not receiving Income with the exception single parents receiving child support, college students receiving solely financial aid, and military reservists receiving a minimal monetary payment for training.

The program provides a wage of $50/day for up to 4 days a week (32-hour work week). Tribal Training clients must perform regular job searches in order to show they are actively seeking employment to attain self-sufficiency.

Applicants can apply at Career Services offices in Tahlequah, Catoosa, Dewey, Jay, Muskogee, Pryor, Sallisaw, Stilwell and Vinita any time Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm*.
