Cherokee Nation Public Safety is committed to protecting the lives, property, and well-being of our citizens through innovation, preparedness, and rapid response. Our department encompasses three critical divisions Emergency Dispatch, Emergency Management, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) working together to ensure the Cherokee Nation remains safe and resilient. 

Emergency Dispatch

Our state-of-the-art dispatch center, located within the Cherokee Nation Emergency Response Center, serves as the communication hub for all emergency operations. Staffed by 12 highly trained dispatchers, this team handles calls for service for both the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service and Cherokee Nation EMS. Utilizing advanced technology and streamlined processes, our dispatchers provide fast, accurate, and coordinated responses to emergencies across the Nation. Emergency Management

The Cherokee Nation Emergency Management team consists of 10 dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to prepare for and respond to disasters. Through ongoing training and the development of comprehensive action plans, our team ensures readiness for any emergency scenario. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and resources, we safeguard the Cherokee Nation against natural and man-made threats. We are proud to be the first tribal emergency management agency to sign an agreement with FEMA as a State Response Team (SRT)—a historic achievement that underscores our leadership in emergency preparedness. Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Cherokee Nation EMS provides life-saving care with a fleet of 10 new ambulances and a skilled staff of Paramedics, Advanced EMTs, and EMTs serving communities across the Nation. Our EMS division not only delivers exceptional emergency medical care but also offers a robust training program, capable of guiding individuals from entry-level EMT certification all the way to Paramedic licensure.
