The Summer Career Pathways Program offers individuals aged 16-24 valuable work experience through summer employment at partnering worksites within the Cherokee Nation reservation. The program aims to help participants build strong work habits and essential skills that will enhance their employability.

Eligible applicants can earn $11.00 per hour for 40 hours per week.

Basic Eligibility Criteria and Requirements:
Due to limited federal funds, SYCP can only accept a limited number of Federally Recognized Tribes for the program.
The previous year’s tax returns must be submitted for all adults working in the household.
A mix of income or non-income-based positions is available under specific funding guidelines.
Positions are determined via citizenship of the Cherokee Nation or other federally recognized tribes.

If you are currently attending school outside of the reservation, you are not required to live there. As long as you stay with a family member residing on the reservation during the program, your accommodation requirements could be met.

No, you do not have to have a worksite, but it is encouraged to have an idea.
The hours are based on the worksite for the day. Weekends are available.
