Baylee Gregg, a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation, is currently pursuing a degree in Political Science with minors in Law & Legal Studies and American Indian Studies at Oklahoma State University, with hopes of attending law school after graduation.
Born and raised in Grove, Oklahoma, Baylee grew up surrounded by her Cherokee culture at home as well as in the classroom. Throughout college, she has remained deeply involved in her community, serving in leadership roles such as Vice President of Member Development and DEI for her sorority and participating in Native student organizations. Her passion lies in advocating for Native peoples through policy, with hopes of one day influencing federal education and tribal policy that empowers tribal nations.
Baylee participated in the 2025 Remember the Removal Bike Ride as a youth rider, retracing the path her ancestors were forced to take during the Trail of Tears. Along the journey, she saw firsthand how historical and modern-day federal policies have shaped and continue to impact her tribe—from displacement and forced assimilation to present-day inequities in health and education. The ride strengthened her resolve to use her education as a tool for justice and tribal sovereignty.
She is thankful for the lifelong friendships and spiritual lessons gained on the ride. It taught her the power of resilience, community, and remembering where you come from.
