The Registration Code and Process Reform Task Force was established by Executive Order 2024-08-CTH to study the Cherokee Nation’s registration process and recommend areas for improvement. The work of the Task Force will help to ensure the process of registering as a Cherokee Nation citizen is efficient and thorough, and that photo IDs are effective credentials useful to citizens. The Task Force will examine two areas, in two phases.

Issued in early 2025, Report I outlined recommendations for reforms to the Cherokee Nation's citizenship code and registration processes.

Report II, which will be issued later this year, will focus on recommendations for improvements to Cherokee Nation photo ID technology, along with any other statutory or process reforms recommended in Report I.

This comprehensive examination of the Cherokee Nation registration process and photo ID technology will be reviewed by Chief Hoskin and Deputy Chief Warner, and together with the Council of the Cherokee Nation, will work on areas that can be implemented.
