Constitution Convention

This ACT is adopted for the purpose of establishing a Constitution Convention Commission. The Commission shall oversee the conduct of a constitutional convention as called for by a vote of the Cherokee people in the 1995 election.

Election Commission

The Cherokee Nation Election Commission carries out Legislative Act No. 12-16, the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated.

Environmental Protection

Provides oversight, regulatory and management authority of various enterprises and functions related to the Cherokee Nation, depending on the respective legislative authority chartering the activities or business enterprise

Gaming Commission

The Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission, as codified in Title 4 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated, is established as the independent tribal regulatory body charged with overseeing the conduct of gaming by authorized Tribal entities. Institutional Review Board

The Cherokee Nation Institutional Review Board (CN IRB) is responsible for protecting the rights and welfare of the human subjects of research conducted within the Cherokee Nation reservation boundaries. The CN IRB reviews all projects working with human subjects to determine if any projects qualify as research. The role of the CN IRB is to provide oversight for all research involving human subjects to ensure that subjects are treated ethically and that their rights are adequately protected.

Tax Commission

The purpose of the Cherokee Nation Tax Code is to raise revenues, in a fair and efficient manner, to enable the government of the Cherokee Nation to provide governmental services of the Cherokee Nation and to promote tribal economic development, self-sufficiency and a strong tribal government.
