Sequoyah senior Brayden Scott.
TAHLEQUAH, Okla.— Sequoyah senior and football team quarterback Brayden Scott has been nominated for the national Mr. Football competition presented by VYPE and State Farm. Scott has attended Sequoyah Schools since the 8th grade and has committed to play college football for the Memphis Tigers. He is expected to sign an official letter of intent in February.
While at Sequoyah, Scott was the starting quarterback representing the United States on Team USA, and he currently holds the Sequoyah Schools’ records for the most passing yards (6,497) and the most total touchdowns, with 99 career touchdowns to date with four games left in the regular season. One hundred players have been nominated for this honor.
The list will be narrowed to 50 players in October, with the top 20 getting an automatic advance to the semi-finals. Finalists will be selected in November. The number of votes that each player receives determines the winner. Anyone can vote online by clicking here. Each person can vote once daily until the contest ends. The winner will be announced in January.
