1.       Can my child bring his/her cell phone, iPad, tablet or other electronic device?

·         No, electronic devices are not allowed at Camp Cherokee.  All materials for classes and activities will be provided.  On-site camp office will have phone service if needed.

  • If your child is found to have any electronic device at camp they will be sent home.

 

 

2.       Do the students have to be Cherokee?

·         Yes, camper must have Cherokee tribal citizenship (blue) card.

 

 

3.       What are the ages for camp?

·         Day Camp

o   Cherokee tribal citizens entering grades 1st through 7th

·         Residential Camp

o   Cherokee tribal citizens entering grades 8th through 12th

5.       What are the camp hours:

·         Day camp:

                Student drop off – 7:30am

                Breakfast – 7:30am

                Lunch – 11:00am

                Student pick up – 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm

 

·         Residential Camp

Student drop off – 3:00pm Sunday

                Breakfast – 8:30am

                Lunch – 12:45pm (noon)

                Student pick up – 4pm (Friday)

7.       Will transportation be provided for Day Camp, if so what are the times and location 2018? (Updates will be posted as schools and/or times are confirmed)

8.       Do I need to send my child with money to attend camp?

·         No money needed, all meals are provided free of charge and Camp Cherokee will fully supply all materials needed for classes and activities.

 

 

9.       My child has an appointment during the week, can they still attend if they miss all or part of a day?

·          No, we ask you not to make appointments during the week of camp.

 

10.   Will campers need to bring bug spray and sunscreen?

  • The nursing staff will have a supply of both bug spray and sunscreen available. 11.  Does my child need swim suits and towels?
  • Dwight Mission & Heart O'Hills will have swim time every afternoon.  Students will have time to change cloths before swim and before pick up.
  • Nowata, Kansas, and Rogers State will have swim/water-times.
