Self-Help Housing
The Cherokee Nation Self-Help Program is designed to give families the opportunity to become homeowners. The homeowner provides the labor and the Cherokee Nation housing staff provides technical assistance, providing safe, affordable, energy efficient homes to Cherokee citizens.


Low Income Rental Housing
The program's purpose is to provide rental housing units for low-income households. The program provides for management and maintenance of over 900 rental units located throughout the Cherokee Nation's 14-county jurisdictional boundaries.


Housing Rehab
Provides rehabilitation services for qualified Cherokee homeowners.


Senior Housing
The Senior Housing Program (Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program) seeks to provide decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing for persons 62 years of age and older in an environment encouraging an active, fulfilling lifestyle.


Rental Assistance Program
Funded by the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA), this program is designed to assist Native Americans with decent, safe, and sanitary housing with Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries. Income guidelines are 60% of National Median Income (NMI) or below. Once approved, families must find their own unit, unit must be approved and the landlord must be willing to enter into a contract.


Community Shield Insurance
The Cherokee Nation's Community Shield Home Owner's Risk-Pool program provides basic coverage for the value of a dewlling and personal property.


Housing Services Offices
Cherokee Nation Housing Services has area offices to serve Cherokee citizens in their communities. Find an office in your area.


Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP)
This program provides qualified Cherokee citizens with down payment and closing costs assistance in obtaining a mortgage to purchase or construct a home. Income guidelines are 80% of National Median Income (NMI) or below.
