Talking Leaves Job Corps



Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. It helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training.

In addition to academic training, Talking Leaves Job Corps provides career technical training in several vocational trades.



Academic Training

Instruction and testing for GED attainment, course work for State Certified High School Diploma and Advanced Career Training at a college or techology center.



Vocational Training

Building and Apartment Maintenance, Culinary Arts, Electrical Wiring, Health Occupations and Business Technology.



Career Development

Activities designed to develop employability, personal responsibility, a personal career development plan and computer skills.



Recreational and Social

Cultural Events, Student Government, Academic bowl, Physical Education, Sports, Arts and Crafts, Community Activities, Committee/Club Activities, Movies, Live Shows and Special Events.



Community Service

Students are involved in a vareity of community organizations and activities.



Outreach and Admissions

Recruitment for entrance into Job Corps.



Job Placement

Placement of completing students in unsubsidized employment.



Job Corps is committed to the development of green job training. All students who enter in Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, or Construction career technical training areas will train in a variety of green subject areas.
