The Cherokee Nation Health Service believes:
- keeping the family intact is a high priority;
- in respect and dignity for each of the beneficiaries;
- in providing high quality, customer friendly services;
- in helping employees reach their potential.
The five-year goals of the Health Service are to:
- improve access to health services for all beneficiaries;
- enhance the quality of service in each of the programs and program sites;
- attain and maintain the recognition of the principal accrediting bodies in the health care field;
- where economically feasible, to expand the health service programs.
This year, the Cherokee Nation Health Service will:
- construct, complete and begin operation of the Jay Dental Clinic;
- construct and begin operation of a new EMS facility;
- complete preparation of four facilities for review by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations;
- continue to improve the quality of care and access by identifying available alternate payor resources;
- complete upgrade of server and telecommunication systems to improve information management;
- initiate evaluation of and plan for improvement to information system software applications;
- evaluate current structure of health service authority and propose best management practice;
- achieve and maintain 100% of medical staffing needs at all clinical service sites.
