This facility was the first Indian health clinic to be constructed new in the Cherokee Nation under
tribal management. Located on five acres at the edge of Sallisaw city limits, The floor space at this
clinic is 21,945 square feet. In 2007 the Annex Building was added to the existing site. This new
building is 11,444 sq. ft and is built to increase the capacity of the current health center. All services
that are not imperatively connected to the clinic have been moved into the new facility. The clinic and
annex walls are adorned with a collection of Native American art which includes a large original
painting by Cherokee artist Daniel Horsechief depicting Smith and his family. There were 13,078
active users during FY 2008 who created 68,018 outpatient visits.
Scope of Service: The clinic provides Medical, Dental, Optometry, Radiology, Behavioral Health,
Public Health Nursing, Health Promotion Disease Prevention, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Nutrition,
WIC and Contract Care.
Hours of Operation: Mon. through Thurs. 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
