Tribal Youth Leadership Intern Program

The goal of the Youth Leadership Intern Program is to provide participants an opportunity to become familiar with the Cherokee Nation Tribal government and administrative functions.

Basic Eligibility Criteria:

•   Reside within the Cherokee Nation 14 county service area.
•   Meet income eligibility criteria.
•   Be between ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-one (21) years inclusive.
•   Must be of Cherokee descent.
•   Must be enrolled member of the Cherokee tribe.
•   Males will be required to register with Selective Service System if 18 or older at the time of application.
•   Have never been married; no dependents.
•   Must submit two letters of recommendation (school administration, school counselor, and/or former employers).
•   Must have attained a 3.0 grade point average ( GPA ) or above for the current school year.
•   An interview will be required. Former Interns may not apply.
