Many people visit the Cherokee FIRST Center for family research or genealogy. For that reason, a copy of the Dawes Roll, the Emmitt Star Roll and the Guion Miller Roll are available for anyone researching their Cherokee ancestors. Cherokee burial and cemetery books are also available to help people find their ancestors along with four computers that offer genealogy Web sites.
“People come in (for genealogy research) to get their white card or their Indian card or whatever they want to call it – the card that entitles them to services,” Mouse said referring to the Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood card.
