Cherokee Nation Announces Ga Du Gi Award
The Cherokee Nation has established the Ga Du Gi Award to honor individuals, families, or groups who put the Cherokee people first by engaging in an act or actions, which protect, preserve, and promote the well being and legacy of the Cherokee People. The Ga Du Gi Award recognizes those who ensure the social and cultural vitality of the Cherokee People, our communities, and our Nation. The award is intended to celebrate the drive of those who significantly contribute to others by exemplifying the Cherokee way of life.
The Cherokee Nation is now accepting applications for Ga du gi Awards, the first of which will be handed out quarterly during the Tribal Council meeting, beginning in April. Nomination applications and letters of support must be received by email, mail, fax or hand delivery before 5 p.m. on the last business day of each quarter for consideration for the next quarter’s awards.
For applications or more information on the Ga du gi Award, go the Cherokee Nation website at www.cherokee.org, or write, call, or fax the Cherokee Nation at:
