Cherokee Nation Early Childhood Unit Offers Two Options
Center Based: a classroom environment, which promotes early childhood development stages.
Home Based: is a program designed to meet the needs of parents who are considered stay-at-home parents who wish to take part in the education of their children. A Home Visitor visits the home once a week for 1 1/2 hours and works with the parent to determine the education and social needs of the child. This option is available to the Early Head Start Programs in Mayes County.
Early Head Start serves the Tahlequah area only and offers services to prenatal mothers and children ages 0 - 3.
Applications will be screened and prioritized for enrollment opportunities. All children accepted for enrollment must submit a completed physical and dental upon entry into the program. If an application is on file, please contact the office to ensure the most current address and phone number are listed.
