Loom Weaving Class at Cherokee Arts Center

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — A loom weaving class in downtown Tahlequah’s Cherokee Arts Center, 212 S. Water St., is open for enrollment. Students will learn table top loom weaving skills that include threading techniques, design creation, loom assembly and the Cherokee Nation’s history of weaving from National Treasure Dorothy Ice. The class is conducted over six consecutive Saturday sessions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Jan. 28.
Enrollment is open to the public. A $35 deposit is required upon registration, and a fee of $35 will be charged per class session. Students should come to class prepared with four skeins of any color of yarn, scissors, measuring tape, a pencil and paper. Looms will be provided.
