Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs ups the ante with new 8-story hotel
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chad Smith gets an up-close look at the casino construction currently underway at Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs.
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. – A plush 8-story, 140-room hotel will soon greet visitors to northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, officials from Cherokee Casino announced today.
The hotel is being built to complement a nearly 200,000 square foot casino expansion currently underway at Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs. The addition of a hotel brings the total construction project to more than 312,000 square feet, creating a gaming and entertainment destination unlike any other in the region.
Hotel construction will cost approximately $25 million, bringing the combined cost of the casino and hotel expansion to $108 million. The casino-hotel project is expected to create more than 500 new jobs, more than doubling to the current workforce of 450. With two major construction projects underway in West Siloam Springs and at Cherokee Casino Resort in Tulsa, Cherokee Nation Enterprises will add more than 1,000 jobs to the company this year. CNE will hold career fairs beginning as early as July. Construction at Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs is expected to be complete late this year.
“We are excited to announce the hotel as an addition to Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “The expansion of this property creates many new good paying, stable jobs for Cherokee citizens and the surrounding area. This type of economic growth means citizens and families can stay and work right here in their own communities. The gaming facilities and the expansions have always been about creating jobs. When I see an expansion project of this magnitude, it is a visible sign of progress that we are one step closer to achieving our vision of self-sufficiency for the Cherokee people. ”
The hotel will include more than 140 finely appointed rooms and meeting space. In addition, the vast new casino will feature an expanded nightclub and stage along with more than 1,600 new electronic games and nearly 30 poker and table games. The facility will also feature several dining options including a fine dining restaurant, a Las Vegas-style buffet and brand name eateries.
“Our mission has always been for Cherokee Casinos to provide a superior experience that exceeds guests’ expectations, including more amenities, more fun and more excitement than anywhere else,” said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Enterprises. “The new facility will offer all of this, but also a luxury hotel creating extended stay options for guests. The market is booming with a strong regional draw, especially for entertainment, dining and hospitality of this nature. Along with the planned widening of Highway 412, we expect the expansion of this property to spur additional investment and growth. Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs will be the only entertainment destination of its kind in this area.”
Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs is considered a gateway into the Cherokee Nation, attracting visitors from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. Encompassing 50,000 square feet, the casino currently offers more than 1,000 electronic games and more than 20 table games. Guests can enjoy live entertainment five nights a week, delicious appetizers and a wide selection of mixed drinks and other beverages at Twister’s, the casino’s popular entertainment venue. And serving delicious menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the casino’s Sidewalk Café hits the spot for any appetite at any time of the day or night.
