Cherokee Nation Opens New Clinic In Vinita
VINITA- The Cherokee Nation recently opened the doors to a new medical clinic in Vinita.
"This new clinic offers unprecedented convenience for Cherokees in Craig County," said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chad Smith. "Families no longer have to worry about how to find the time to get to our clinic in Nowata or the Claremore Indian Hospital."
The Vinita Health Clinic is a branch of the Cherokee Nation Nowata Primary Clinic. The clinic is staffed with a full time Nurse Practioner, a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Medical Records Clerk. Additionally, professionals from the neighboring Nowata clinic, including a pharmacist, will staff the clinic on a part-time basis. Patients need to make appointments to be seen, but appointments can be scheduled for the same day.
The clinic is located at 135 East Canadian Street in Vinita. Hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Patients can make appointments by calling (918) 323-0191. Behavioral health appointments will still need to be scheduled through the Nowata Clinic by calling (918) 273-0192.
A grand opening of the clinic is scheduled for Friday, January 10th from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the clinic and the public is encouraged to attend this event.
