Keith Harper receives Cherokee Nation Statesmanship Award

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Cherokee Nation citizen Keith Harper was nominated by President Barack Obama as the United States Representative to the United Nation Human Rights Council and was sworn into office June 5, 2014. Harper was among those recognized at the 62nd Cherokee National Holiday by Principal Chief Bill John Baker as a recipient of the Cherokee National Statesmanship Award.

Unable to attend the Holiday because of his duties as Representative, Harper sent a "Thank You" video to the Cherokee Nation. It may be seen on the Cherokee Nation's You Tube channel.
