TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee citizen Doug Hatfield, a former compliance manager for the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission, is now serving as the director of compliance for the National Indian Gaming Commission in Washington, D.C.
“Doug’s appointment to the National Indian Gaming Commission is a direct result of the hard work and dedication that he put into his position with the tribe,” said CNGC Director Jamie Hummingbird. “That organization is going to benefit greatly from his experience, and in turn the Cherokee Nation is going to benefit by having one of our own in D.C. to speak for and represent us. Doug is a great example of the quality of our employees here at the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission.”
Hatfield, a Muskogee native, will ensure all the tribal gaming operations across the country are in compliance with the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
The National Indian Gaming Commission is an independent federal regulatory agency within the Department of the Interior that regulates gaming activities on Indian lands.
