Cherokee Nation to Celebrate Women’s Health Week; Health Fair Set
The Cherokee Nation will host a Health Fair on Tuesday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Three Rivers Health Center, located at 1001 East 41 Street in Muskogee. The Health Fair is part of a week-long celebration of National Women’s Health Week.

Cherokee Nation Enterprises (CNE), which operates seven Cherokee Casinos in northeast Oklahoma, is releasing its third annual report, “Where the Casino Money Goes 2008.” The publication outlines Cherokee Casinos’ impact on job creation and the economy in northeast Oklahoma. CNE has created more than 2,100 jobs in the past four years, 400 of those in 2007 alone.

The Tribal Council initiates legislation and conducts other business which will further the interests of the Cherokee Nation and its membership. The other business which will further the interests of the Cherokee Nation and its membership. The Deputy Chief presides over the Council as its president. Tribal Council terms are four years.
