The Cherokee National Holiday has been held since 1953 in commemoration of the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Constitution. It has grown into one of the largest events in Oklahoma, attracting more than 70,000 people from across the world. Cherokee Communities "The Strength Of Our Nation" is the theme of the 51st Cherokee National Holiday, which is expected to bring more than 100,000 visitors and Cherokees to Tahlequah this Labor Day weekend.
