The children's fishing derby will be held Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. until noon at the pond east of the tribal complex.
Registration is from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. The derby is open to children, 5 to 14 years of age, and there is no entry fee. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Fishing poles will be provided.
Competition is scheduled in two divisions. Children, 5 to 9 years old, will fish from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Ten to 14-year-olds will fish from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish caught in each division. First place winners in each division will receive a rod and reel. Second place winners will receive a tackle box, and third place finishers will get a tackle pack.
