How to submit work to

The Messenger is published online once a year, in December. Submissions may be sent by mail or e-mail, Microsoft Word format preferred. Authors must be a member of a Federally recognized Cherokee tribe or band. Submissions must include a copy of the author's CDIB or tribal membership, as well as a brief bio. Submissions will be published at the discretion of the Editors.
Youth writing contests are for Cherokee tribal members from 5th to 8th grade who reside in the jurisdictional boundaries of the Cherokee Nation. Details are sent to each school.
